Key legal counsel and generalist
A Corporate/Commercial lawyer often work as a generalist and often act as the client's key legal counsel with Plesner. The key legal counsel is often the client's close adviser and legal coordinator and may be regarded as a particularly trusted person or key account manager.
A generalist is a legal all-rounder, whose expertise is to keep abreast of current, all-round legal developments and to maintain a general overview of a diversity of legal issues. A generalist knows his limitations in detail and delegates much work out to legal specialists.
As the client's close adviser and contact person, the key legal counsel is familiar with the client's situation and consequently the client does not have to tell his own and the company's story and vision all over again every time he contacts the law firm.
A key legal counsel and generalist can often help reduce the client's costs and any waste of time, among other things by ensuring that specialists are used for relevant and cost-effective questions and that specialists provide usable answers in time.
The characteristic of the generalist is not specialist knowledge ("knowing that"), but rather know-how. A Plesner generalist and key legal counsel has full backup in all relevant specialist areas in commercial law because many of Denmark's leading legal experts are in-house.
Using a Plesner key legal counsel or generalist is an optimal combination of two worlds, i.e. old virtues like client relations and confidence on the part of the client, and at the same time instantaneous access to all relevant legal expertise from specialists of the highest professional standard. Nice to have at hand in unpredictable situations.
