Capidea sells OPTIWARE to Aptean

Capidea has recently agreed to sell software provider OPTIWARE to US-based Aptean. Plesner advised Capidea in connection with the transaction.

Danish private equity fund Capidea sold software provider OPTIWARE after about six years of ownership. The buyer, Aptean, is a US-based company specialising in ERP systems and supply chain management solutions.

OPTIWARE provides Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) solutions to production companies in various industries. The company is headquartered in Denmark and employs a total of about 110 people in Europe, Asia and the US. OPTIWARE will become part of Aptean and contribute to the company’s growth strategy, especially in the European market.

Capidea has assets under management of about DKK 2.3 billion, all of which are invested in small and medium-sized businesses. Since its inception in 2006, Capidea has invested in 19 companies distributed on three different sub-funds.
