Environmental Board of Appeal goes digital

Attorney and partner Søren Stenderup Jensen recently published an article in ILO's newsletter on environmental law. The article concerns the digitization of the Environmental Board of Appeal.

The Environmental Board of Appeal recently introduced a new digital complaints portal to be used by first-instance authorities and can be used by the complainants when appealing decisions made by the board.

Although not yet mandatory, it is the intention that individuals, enterprises and organisations are to use the portal when filing complaints. The Environmental Board of Appeal has chosen to introduce the portal as an option to gain experience in its use before it is made mandatory.

It is unclear whether the complaints portal will enhance the efficiency of the Boards handling of complaints, but the intention is to enhance the digital flow of complaints that has previously been filed through letters and email and to make communication more user-friendly.
