New Danish Marketing Practices Act: Remember to update employment contracts and other documents

On 25 April 2017, the Danish Parliament, the Folketing, adopted the new Marketing Practices Act, which will enter into force on 1 July 2017.

The purpose of the revised Marketing Practices Act is to simplify the act as well as to ensure compliance with the EU law.

The adoption of the act entails that some of the provisions of the present Marketing Practices Act will be found under other sections in the new act. For example, the present Section 19 of the Marketing Practices Act, which concerns trade secrets, will be found in Section 23 in the new act.

As the new Marketing Practices Act will enter into force already on 1 July 2017, it is important that employment contracts and other documents are updated with the correct section references.
Plesner will be happy to assist in this respect.
