Founders sell 75% of TOP-TOY to EQT

EQT VII acquires 75% of TOP-TOY and enters into partnership with the founders, the Gjørup family, who will still be represented in the company. Plesner has advised the family and TOP-TOY for more than 30 years and is assisting the family in connection with the transaction.
The transaction is subject to the approval of the Danish competition authorities and is expected to be completed in January 2016. TOP-TOY's value in the transaction is DKK 2.325bn for 100% calculated on a debt-free basis.
TOP-TOY is a market leader in respect of toys and children's products in the Nordic countries. The company has developed an extensive network consisting of more than 300 shops throughout the Nordic countries and Northern Germany over the past 50 years. TOP-TOY recently launched a new and ambitious strategy that is to make the company the leading distributor of toys and children's products in the Nordic countries offering customers the best shopping experience both online and in the many shops.
