GlobalConnect acquires fibre net provider Nianet

Global Connect has entered into an agreement to acquire Nianet, the Danish electricity companies' joint fibre net provider. Plesner advised GlobalConnect and its principal shareholder EQT on the transaction.

Nianet was set up in 2003 and owned jointly by 13 Danish energy companies. The company, which has approximately 150 employees, provides internet connections to both businesses and the public sector.

GlobalConnect provides fibre net, data centres and cloud solutions and covers Denmark, Northern Germany and parts of Sweden with a high-speed optical fibre network.
