Plesner has assisted Equinor with the acquisition of the Danish solar developer BeGreen

Plesner has assisted Equinor with the acquisition of the Danish solar developer BeGreen. The acquisition includes full ownership of BeGreen.

Since it was established, BeGreen has developed and delivered solar PV projects with capacity of more than 700 MW. Equinor has previously invested in solar and battery storage development companies and the transaction supports Equinor's desire to expand and strengthen its renewable energy portfolio in Europe.

BeGreen will - also after the transaction - act as the developer of the solar PV projects currently held by the company. BeGreen's portfolio of development projects totals more than 6 GW located in Denmark, Sweden and Poland.

Equinor expects that the BeGreen project portfolio will deliver within the range of 4-8% real base project return for renewables projects, including acquisition price, which is within Equinor's expected real base project return for renewable projects.

Plesner has assisted Equinor in all aspects of the transaction, including due diligence, negotiation, and conclusion of transactional contracts.

Plesner's team on the transaction consisted of a larger team with expertise in energy and infrastructure, corporate law, tax, employment law, etc. The core team consisted of Niklas Korsgaard Christensen, Frederik Leth Keller, Johannes Wieth-Klitgaard, Agnes Skovlund Jensen, Emilie Lauenborg Breitenstein, Jacob Borum, Peter Barsøe Østergaard, Tina Brøgger Sørensen and Malene Nyegaard.
