Studentbostäder i Sverige AB acquires a development project of DKK 1.2 billion in Copenhagen
Plesner has advised the Swedish listed real estate company Studentbostäder i Sverige AB (publ) in connection with the structuring of and negotiation and conclusion of the purchase agreement regarding a student housing development project on Engvej in Copenhagen with a value of approx. DKK 1.2 billion comprising 578 student apartments as well as 4 commercial units. The seller is the property developer Gefion Group, selling its largest real estate project to date.
Studentbostäder i Sverige AB acquires the student housing development project in two phases. The first phase, which is expected to be completed by August 2021, consists of 206 student apartments leased to Housing Foundation Copenhagen, 96 studios as well as a day care institution and a supermarket leased to Dansk Supermarked. The second phase consists of a further 276 student apartments (subject to issuance of building permit), a café and a fitness center, which is expected to be completed by April 2022.
Studentbostäder i Sverige AB is a listed Swedish company that aquires, develops and manages student housing of high quality in long-term partnerships with e.g. municipalities and universities. The real estate company's ambition is to become the Nordic region's leading student housing company. The purchase of the development project constitutes the company's first acquisition in Denmark.
