AP Pension finances development of solar energy parks in Portugal

Plesner has assisted AP Pension with financing Eurowind Energy's development of solar energy parks in Portugal. The project is AP Pension's first direct loan financing of green projects.

The loan finances seven solar parks in Portugal, which will be able to deliver power to approximately 35,000 households. One solar energy park has already been developed. The remaining six parks will be developed during the next 12 months.

The loan offers a stable return to AP Pension's customers and has a maturity of 20 years. The loan investment is a part of AP Pension's ambition to invest 18% of the pension fund's total assets in green assets in 2025 and 25% in 2030.

Eurowind Energy is a Danish energy infrastructure group which develops and manage sustainable energy power parks.

The core team on the project was Jakob Echwald Sevel, Emil Hedegaard Mikkelsen and Jónas Már Torfason.
