Discrimination and equal treatment: how to avoid expensive dismissals

Dismissing an employee can be expensive if the employee is covered by the special protection rules of the Danish Act on Prohibition against Discrimination on the Labour Market or the Danish Equal Treatment Act. The employer should therefore ensure that everything goes by the book.

In this seminar attorneys Tina Reismann and Lise Høy Falsner will review the rules and practice as to when an employer can validly and objectively dismiss an employee who is covered by the special rules of the Danish Act on Prohibition against Discrimination on the Labour Market and the Danish Equal Treatment Act - and when such dismissal is not considered objective.

At the moment many cases concern the dismissal of employees who are pregnant/on maternity leave, disabled or older, which is why this seminar will focus on these three areas.

The seminar will include the most recent practice in the area.
