New shopping centre in Herlev

The developers NPV A/S and NREP have joined forces to build the new 44,000 sqm BIG Shoppingcenter in Herlev. The BIG Shopingcenter is the largest box shopping area in Denmark. Plesner assisted the developers.
The BIG Shoppingcenter is located at the former "DISA site" in the Copenhagen suburb of Herlev where DISA produced weapons until the 1960s. Demolition began in April 2014 and the BIG Shoppingcenter opened on 31 October 2015 following an 18-month construction period.
The new shopping area contains 25 shops selling groceries and retail goods as well as cinemas, a fitness center, a children's play area and cafés and restaurants.
Plesner advised the developers on environmental and public law aspects as well as on lease and construction law issues.
