CBRE acquires 463 prime student accommodation units in Copenhagen

The old DSB (Danish Rail) headquarters situated at Sølvgade in Copenhagen, today converted into prime student accommodation, have been acquired by CBRE Global Investment Partners together with its partner Triton Development North ApS. The vendor of the historic building was Ejendomsselskabet Norden. Plesner has advised on the acquisition.

The 25,000 sqm property was acquired by Norden in 2014 and has been redeveloped and rebuilt from being DSB headquarters to become prime student accommodation. The prime student accommodation comprises 463 units and has recently been made available to let.

CBRE has acquired the asset on behalf of one of its separate account clients. Triton Development North will be the local operating partner and property manager, managing the property under its "BaseCamp" brand. The University of Copenhagen has acquired half the units on an eight-year lease and the other half will be let directly to students.
