Axcel invests in Mountain Top Industries

The Danish private equity firm Axcel has concluded an agreement to acquire a controlling interest in Mountain Top Industries, one of the world's leading producers of pickup truck accessories. Plesner assisted Axcel with the transaction.
Mountain Top Industries has been designing and producing accessories for pickup trucks since 1978 and has since then expanded its business in close partnership with its customers, which comprise leading producers of pickup trucks across the world, including Ford, Nissan, Renault, VW, Mercedez-Benz and Toyota.
Mountain Top Industries employs around 170 people working with design, development and production at its headquarters in Frederikssund, Denmark. Mountain Top Industries is currently owned by Marie-Louise and Lars Bjerg, who will remain both shareholders and board members in partnership with Axcel.
Mountain Top Industries expects to be able to expand both sales and production into several new markets, including the US, in the near future.
The investment in Mountain Top Industries is Axcel's second investment in its most recent fund, Axcel V. The transaction is subject to approval from the competition authorities.
