Orkla Foods Danmark sells K-Salat to Stryhns

Norwegian-owned Orkla Foods Danmark A/S has sold food producer K-Salat to Stryhns A/S. Plesner assisted Orkla Food Danmark A/S with the transaction that was completed on 1 December 2017.

K-Salat was founded in 1937 in Copenhagen under the name Københavns Salatfabrik. The business was later moved to Havnsø, and its name was changed to K-Salat.  K-Salat is known for its production of salad spreads, dressings, mayonnaise and remoulade sold to the retail trade and food service customers in Denmark and abroad.

In addition to the trademark "K-Salat", the transaction includes around 100 employees and the factory in Havnsø, where the K-Salat salad spreads, dressings, mayonnaise and remoulade are still being produced.

The sale is part of Orkla Foods Danmark A/S's strategy to focus on its core assortment, ie groceries sold under the trademarks Beauvais, Den Gamle Fabrik, Glyngøre, Bähncke, FUN, Grønnegården and Risifrutti.
