Sivantos and Widex to merge

Leading hearing aid companies Sivantos and Widex will be merging. EQT funds, owners of Sivantos, and the Tøpholm and Westermann families, owners of Widex, have agreed terms to merge the two companies. Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and Plesner acted together as counsels for EQT and Sivantos.

The two companies will merge as equal partners, and the combined entity will have a value of more than DKK 52bn. It means that this will be one of the largest mergers in Denmark so far.

The merged company will have revenues of approximately DKK 12bn and will become the third largest producer of hearing aids. The company will employ more than 10,000 people worldwide and will spend around DKK 700m annually on research and development.

The merger is subject to the relevant regulatory approvals.
