Copenhagen Infrastructure IV reaches EUR 7bn hard cap

On 16 April 2021, after one year of global fundraising, Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) reached the EUR 7bn hard cap in their global greenfield renewables energy fund Copenhagen Infrastructure IV (CI IV). CI IV achieved commitments from approximately 100 institutional investors from the Nordics, Europe, North America, Asia and Australia. Plesner’s Private Investment Fund team advised CIP during all stages of the fundraising.

CI IV is CIP’s flagship fund and is the world’s largest fund dedicated to greenfield renewable energy investments. The investment strategy is a continuation of Copenhagen Infrastructure I, II and III and is tailored to institutional investors with a long-term investment horizon.

Like the predecessor flagship funds, CI IV will focus on greenfield investments within energy infrastructure. The fund has a global reach and will diversify investments across technologies, primarily offshore wind, solar PV, transmission, waste-to-energy and biomass assets.

The fund will invest in low-risk OECD countries in Western Europe, North America, developed Asia, and Australia.

Plesner’s Private Investment Funds team has advised CIP during all stages of the structuring, raising and formation of the fund.
