Erhvervsinvest acquires Danish company Estron

Danish private equity fund Erhvervsinvest acquires more than 80% of the shares in Estron, a leading Danish manufacturer of components for hearing aids and audio products. Plesner acted as legal advisor to Erhvervsinvest.

Estron was founded in 1994 and is a leading manufacturer of high-technology components which, in addition to hearing aids, are also used for communication and audio products. Estron is recognised for the high quality of its products which are supplied to leading suppliers of hearing aids and to the medical industry as well as to the communications industry, including security/military, and to professionals in the audio industry. Estron employs 450 employees and has production facilities in Denmark, Vietnam and Mexico, while management, sales and development are located in the head office in Denmark.

Erhvervsinvest is a Danish private equity fund primarily investing in small and medium-sized, well-established companies based in Denmark. Since it was founded in 2004, Erhvervsinvest has completed close to 40 investments and 26 acquisitions. Erhvervsinvest has raised five funds totalling DKK 5bn.

The acquisition of Estron is the first investment made by Erhvervsinvest's fifth fund, Erhvervsinvest V.
