Plesner's international competition for law students has found its winners

Plesner has just hosted an international Pre-Moot competition as preparation for the annual Vis Moot, the world's biggest and most prestigious competition for law students.

First and foremost, we would like to thank the students for their participation in and the enthusiasm that they showed for Plesner's Pre-Moot and we wish them good luck at the Vis Moot competition in Vienna.

Teams from the University of Southern Denmark, Victoria University from Melbourne, Australia, and Université Paris-Est Créteil Val de Marne UPEC, France, participated in Plesner's Pre-Moot.

The students competed in conducting a fictitious arbitration where they were able to litigate, refine their arguments, receive feedback and network with experienced litigators. In addition to some of Plesner's own partners, the judging panel was made up of practitioners from Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Holland, France and Denmark.

Vis Moot

Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot ("Vis Moot") is the biggest and most prestigious arbitration competition for international law students. The competition is held every year in Vienna and this will be its 24th year. This year, the students are to conduct a fictitious arbitration about the supply of jet engines for private planes under the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG).

The competition plays an important role in the development of tomorrow's international litigators and arbitrators and it also strengthens the links between the practitioners in the area of international dispute resolution.

Plesner wishes to participate actively in this development and invest in future generations. This is why Plesner hosted the Pre-Moot and why we will send a team of lawyers from Plesner to Vienna to be judges in the Vis Moot competition. Plesner will host another Pre-Moot in 2018.
