Key Features

The detailed programme and further information about Plesner Pre-Moot 2018 and Copenhagen can be found using the links on the right-hand side of this page. The key features are:

Six Rounds of Argument

Each team will conduct five rounds of oral argument with scoring (similar to the "General Rounds" in Vienna) and a final round for 1st to 3rd place and secondary places without scoring (similar to the “Elimination Rounds” in Vienna). Each team will thus plead in six rounds (regardless of the team's score) and plead at least twice as Claimant and twice as Respondent.

The participating arbitrators in the Pre-Moot (three for each of the six rounds of argument) will all be experienced practitioners in the field of international dispute resolution, and they will provide feedback after each of the first five rounds of argument.

Competitions

The two teams with the highest overall scores for the first five rounds will meet each other in the final round for 1st place. The teams with the third and fourth highest scores will meet each other in the final for 3rd place and so on. There will be prizes for the top-three teams and a prize for the best oralist. The results will be announced - and the prizes distributed - at a reception held at Plesner at the end of the two-day event.

Registration

The registration deadline is 31 January 2018.

Places are limited, so we suggest to register as early as possible.

However, please do not register if you have substantial concerns whether you will actually be able to make it to Copenhagen for the Pre-Moot, as we would then prefer to reserve slots for other teams. Please contact us (premoot@plesner.com) if you have such concerns at any point prior to the Pre-Moot so we may be able to assist you in the best way possible.

We hope to see you in 2018!
