Plesner is a market-leading legal advisor in the area of Power-to-X (PtX) and advises both Danish and international businesses and operators in this area.

What is PtX?

PtX is a blanket term for technologies that are based on using green technology to produce green hydrogen which can be used directly as a fuel or converted into other fuels, chemicals and materials.

PtX is a generic term. The X symbolises the different end products: green gasses, electro fuels, liquid electricity, power-to-gas. These concepts all cover liquid or gaseous fuels containing hydrogen produced through electrolysis with green power — usually from wind farms or solar cells.

PtX will be an important factor in achieving the Danish government's 70% target in 2030, but in particular in terms of achieving the long-term climate-neutrality target by 2045, where PtX fuels may be used to convert parts of the transport sector, in particular within aviation, shipping, heavy transport, agriculture, industry etc.
