TotalEnergies and European Energy enter into strategic cooperation

Plesner advised TotalEnergies in connection with the entering into of a new cooperation with European Energy and the acquisition of a majority stake in a portfolio of two offshore wind projects from European Energy.
Plesner advised TotalEnergies in connection with the acquisition of a majority stake in a portfolio of two Danish offshore wind projects which have a potential capacity of 405 MW.
Both projects are part of the nine open-door offshore wind projects which were reaffirmed by the Danish Energy Agency in December 2023. A license is expected to be issued in the middle of 2024 and grid connection is expected in 2030.
The parties also intend to develop and operate similar off shore wind projects in Sweden and Finland through a joint venture and plan to bid in upcoming offshore wind tenders.
Plesner's team on the transaction included a large number of lawyers with expertise in energy and infrastructure, environmental law, corporate law, tax, etc.
